TO ALL FRIENDS AND POTENTIAL ACCOMPLICES … ALL TIMES AND PLACES!
12v Teknival #2 will start at 3pm on Saturday 9th July 2011

The location will be made public on the day, please ring 07582 423803
The setting will be urban/rural, in the Bristol area. Everyone is invited, this includes children and animals.
Open invite to all soundsystems, lighting rigs and any other magical contraptions that are powered by 12v. There will be no direct vehicle access to the site so please be ready to use trolleys and sack barrows to move any batteries, tat and speakers. We encourage any creative and ethical project to join the space and turn mind to matter.
This is a self-organised event, meaning that there is no one in charge, everyone is crew and responsible. Free spaces exist outside the technologically mapped CCTV zone of repetitive, civilised, domesticated behaviour. In theory at least, anything could happen...
To receive further information or background material (feedback from 12v Teknival #1, and supporting information and thoughts on the potential offered by such freeform events), and to get in touch about joining this event please contact:

Teknivals, at their best, make connections in the direction of experimentation and experience, new ways of thinking and feeling, possibilities that can be used as a blueprint and applied to anything. The planet gets destroyed and people get habituated into thinking that’s okay, or that we are powerless to do anything. So we need something that isn’t compromised to inspire a little hope and show the way... The Shape of Nature kicks in, and you go on a mission of collective direct action. And once you’ve tasted freedom, you want more, you’ll do pretty much anything not to get trapped again.
We’re still amazed by how light, tone, and rhythm can absolutely shake our idea of the world. Without free space and new reference points outside the reign of capitalism, it can be very easy to fall into a mindset of thinking how other people want you to think and behave. If everything’s designed for you to just walk through like an actor on set with pre-written lines, pre-conceived emotions, well that’s wrong.
Free parties have always challenged the ownership of land and the usually dodgy purposes that ownership turns itself to. Community free space becomes accountable to everyone who uses it. Our anarchy revolves around responsibility and personal involvement in the decisions that affect our daily lives.
Against the culture of consuming, let’s make a culture of creation, skill sharing and resistance, one that opens out from local communities to reclaim what has been taken away from us. Not distracted by the mainstream, instead doing the work to push things forward in light of what actually happens and what possibilities are available to us. Team up and make it happen.
We have chosen to use 12v sound and lighting, small scale and local. No technology running on 240v is welcome, leave your generators at home. Equipment can be adapted, some kit already has climate change built in as a function of its design!
To make this event happen we welcome: artists to bring art for a temporary exhibition; performers of all styles; free & non-profit stalls, vegan/veggie cafes; nature based designers to share their projects; campaign organisations based on direct action and unaffiliated to political parties; clowns, kids and families.

The event is free of charge, food will be available for donations.
